Uploading custom Favicon in a Blog.

As the Blogger owner is Google it has been more easy to perform the various function.Just few month ago Blogger has updated a Favicon.Not only in Blogger we can upload our Favicon in Wordpress too easily.If you are not good designer too you can make the Favicon easily.For better performance you may want to add your Favicon.Before starting What is Favicon??

Favicon is a tiny picture that is shown in title bar and in display bar of the browser.Favicon can be Logo of Blog too.

In Picture you can see the tiny image in address bar of Google Site.That image is called favicon.

Making Favicon.

Without favicon how can we upload.Design your Favicon your self if you can but if you cannot design go to Below favicon generating some web sites.

4. http://www.seo-mind.com/favicon-generator/
5. http://www.webscriptlab.com/favicongenerator.php

After rendering favicon download them in Your Computer.

If you cannot make from that web sites also and wish to upload ready made favicon then go to Free 18,000+ Animated Favicons, Icon Generator, Favicon Hosting, and Dynamic Favicon Management and download that favicon.

If you have image but not square shape then convert it from  http://www.icoconverter.com/

 

Some Points to be Noted before making favicon.

1. It must be in Square Shaped.i.e It should be of 16x16 pixels. It you don’t have that shape convert it from http://www.icoconverter.com/ any picture to this pixel.
2. Your Favicon picture size must be less than 10 KB.If its is more it will take less time.
3. Make extension of favicon  .ico because  favicon with image extension like  .gif is still not readable by some browser.

Uploading Favicon.

In Blogger.

1. Go to Draft.blogger.com.
2. Click on drop menu then go to layout.
   
3. In Layout click on edit Text of Favicon.
   
4. Click on Select File or Browse and select your own Favicon.
   
5. After selecting or choosing file click on orange button Save.
6. The layout Page will be reloaded in favicon you can see your Image.
7. In Your Blog you still cannot see  favicon for some days.Don’t worry it will  appear after Few Days.

In Wordpress.

1. Go to Wordpress.com
2. Upload Your Favicon in Wordpress  , PhotoBucket or Flickr any where else.
3. Get the Direct link of The Image
4. Add the below code inside header.php (Admin – Appearance > theme editor > header.php)

   <link rel="shortcut icon" href="YourImageDirectLink" type="image/vnd.microsoft.icon"/>
   <link rel="icon" href="YourImageDirectlink" type="image/x-ico"/>

5. Replace YourImageDirectlink with the direct url of Image.
6. It will works only you you have ability to custom design.
